They are being relentless in their pursuit, and frankly, they have found nothing. There is very little to their story, and yet CNN acts like McCain made a huge mistake by selecting her. Colmes from Hannity and Colmes is attacking her at this moment. MSNBC is -- well, let's not talk about those boobs.
Even Obama is not clean. Yes, he came out very piously and said that you should leave family out of it, but it is his campaign that is financing these attack dogs.
We at GOP Flag are not offended by the efforts of those left-wingers. Nor are we calling for censuring them.
Let them go. They are coming off as very bitter and very shrill. They are losing the core of
America.
Governor Palin has responded like a true leader that she is. We need more like her.

Convention moves forward, but Gustav on our minds
The Republicans have no choice but to go ahead with their convention, but they are doing all that they can to help with Hurricane Gustav. As to their schedule in the convention, they are moving forward with caution. You can expect changes. The GOP Flag applauds them for their sensitivity and compassion in this critical time.
Gustav is wreaking havoc in the Gulf States. Luckily, we were prepared this time. Louisiana evacuated millions and mobilized their troops. Mississippi acted similarly. Neigboring states have sent troops and aid.
There is a great amount of politics to discuss, but we will leave that for another day.
For today, let us unite --Democrats and Republicans -- and help our fellow Americans.
When this is over, we can get back to the campaign.

Governor Palin
Today, August 29, John McCain announced who will be the next Vice President of the United States. Senator McCain selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as the Vice Presidential candidate for the winning side.
The McCain Train is loaded up and ready to go.
We observe with glee the squeals of the left-wingers. They are almost as loud as the thundrous applause that the Republicans are giving future Vice President Palin.
The Democrats are nattering about a lack of experience. Future Vice President Palin has more experience running a goverment than Obama and Biden combined. Neither Democratic candidate has ever run any kind of goverment.
Future Vice President Palin was busy running one of the biggest Energy states when she nominated. Obama can claim just one bill that he got through the Senate in all his time in office.
Future Vice President Palin was working with the National Guard, the oil companies, budgets, transportation issues, environmental bills, healthcare, education, welfare, police, fire, and rescue, and everything else that goes into running a major goverment.
And Obama had one bill, one time.
Republicans are very happy with the state of the Party and the way the election is shaping up. Look for the supposed Democratic bump to disappear before the first legitimate poll comes out.

Palin, Biden, and Eschaton makes three
This entry concerns a response we left on Eschaton. It's a very nice place to visit, but we don't share all of their views.
The post we responded to was:
"Sarah Palin For President
"Republican on MSNBC is arguing that Palin has much more experience than Joe Biden because all he did was run committees in the Senate.By this logic Palin has much more experience than John McCain."
Our response was:
"Palin has more experience in governing than Biden. A city mayor has more experience in governing than Biden.
"Senators pass legislation. Mayor and governors and president must govern.
"It won't be the senators that act on emergency help for New Orleans if it gets swamped in the next hurricane. But you will hear about the mayor, the governor, and the president because each of them will be responding in their own way.
"Senators pass bills after the emergency. Mayors, governors, and presidents must act immediately and tailor their actions to meet whatever comes their way. And they must act immediately, unlike senators who may have a bill in congress for years."

Bill Clinton unconvincingly supports Barack
Like the consummate car dealer, Bill Clinton strode onto the stage in Denver and contradicted everything he has ever said about Barack Obama, including the things he has been saying behind the scenes this week.
Of this we can be sure: Bill and Hillary absolutely hate what is happening. They have no respect for Obama, and they find it hard to stifle their feelings. Their poorly hidden animus is creating havoc for Barack Obama. This is supposed to be his shining moment. Instead, he has to put on a brave face while moderates continue to publicly abandon him.
This Democratic Convention has proven to be a great boon for John McCain. You can expect to see little to no bump in the polls for Obama. He is losing friends fast.

Mark Warner and the end of the world
Virginia Governor Mark Warner spoke tonight at the Democratic National Convention. As expected, he spewed forth the same old liberal rant that a vote for McCain means more of the same and Obama means hearts and flowers and sunshine.
“Right now, at this critical moment in our history, we have one shot to get it right,” he said. “And the status quo just won’t cut it."
Excuse me, but we aren't in an all-or-nothing situation. If we were, it would probably be something international. And the American public strongly feels that McCain is way better on Foreign Affairs.
So excuse me, but if we were in the situation that Warner describes, Obama wouldn't stand a chance.
Analysts say that the sole reason for Warner to give any kind of speech was because he is from Virginia. Democrats are hoping in vain that Virginia will swing to their side. It won't happen.
Let's just give the Democrats this week to huff and puff. They have pretend that they have a chance.

Joe Biden is helping which side?
Obama and our man McCain are now in a dead heat. McCain was as much as 7 points behind Obama just last month. McCain made up a lot of ground, but as of last week, he still trailed Obama slightly.
And now we have the Joe Biden phenomenon. Normally, when a candidate announces his running mate, there is a bump in the polls. It was no different this time, except that the Biden announcement caused a downward bump.
McCain no longer trails Obama. The first national poll to come out after Biden came on board is a CNN/Opinion Research poll. CNN overtly favors Obama in its reporting, and their polls have long been considered suspect. Nevertheless, they released a poll on Sunday night that showed that both candidates have 47% of the vote.
This is wonderful news for Republicans. Many analysts feel that Obama will not rise higher than he already is. In other words, all the McCain has to do is keep putting out the good word, and Obama will sink as McCain gains strength.
The GOP Flag is flying proud and high.
God bless America.
God bless John McCain.
